Updated today

Antidote may only be used if both of the following conditions are met:

  • Antidote is included in your official accommodation plan

  • Its use has been approved by your institution

Without these conditions, Antidote must not be used during the assessment. Always confirm authorization with your institution or coordinator before the exam.

What is Antidote?

Antidote is a language software offering a grammar checker, dictionaries, and writing guides. It is available in two versions:

  • Antidote Web: accessible via a browser extension

  • Antidote 11: installed as a local application

Before the assessment

  • Make sure you have an active Antidote license

  • Ensure the Antidote extension is installed on your browser (Chrome or Edge)

  • Notify the exam supervisor if Antidote is listed in your accommodation plan

Using Antidote in Nexam

How it works

Antidote does not integrate directly with the Nexam answer area, but it can be used via the browser extension.

  1. Select the text in the Nexam writing area

  2. Click the Antidote Web icon in your browser’s extensions bar

  3. Choose the desired tool: Corrector, Dictionary, or Guide

  4. The selected content will open in Antidote in a new tab or window

Important notes

  • Text is not modified automatically in Nexam: you must review the suggestions and make edits manually in the answer area

  • The Antidote application does not work directly in Nexam. If using this version, you must copy the text into the application, correct it, then paste it back into Nexam
