Using WordQ in Nexam

Writing and reading assistance with WordQ during a Nexam evaluation

What is WordQ?

WordQ is an assistive writing and reading tool. It suggests words, synonyms, and examples to support users during text entry. In Nexam, WordQ can be used as long as a valid license is available.

Before the evaluation

  • Make sure WordQ is installed on your device.

  • Open the WordQ application before starting your session in Nexam.

  • If WordQ is included in your accommodation plan, notify the exam coordinator in advance.

Using WordQ in Nexam

  1. Start your Nexam session.

  2. WordQ overlays on the response fields. Click inside a field to activate word prediction.

  3. Use your cursor to select text if you want WordQ to read it aloud or offer suggestions.

Configuring Word Prediction in WordQ

Open Options > Prediction in WordQ to customize settings:

"Word List" tab

  • Number of words to display

  • Display synonyms and usage examples

  • Word order (by probability or alphabetically)

  • Layout (vertical or horizontal)

  • List position (follow the text cursor or remain fixed)

"Selection" tab

  • Keyboard: select using numbers (line number or numeric keypad)

  • Mouse: point and click to choose a word
