What is the waiting room?
For some exams, Nexam allows you to complete the preparation steps a few minutes before the scheduled start time.
This gives you time to check your device, enable the required monitoring features, and review the instructions before the exam officially opens.
The time spent completing these steps and waiting in the waiting room does not reduce the time available to complete your exam.
How to access the waiting room
Before the waiting room opens, your exam appears as "Upcoming" on your dashboard. You can see how much time remains before the exam starts and before the waiting room opens.
Once you can begin preparing:
The status "Waiting room open" appears on your exam card.
Click Enter the waiting room.
Complete the preparation steps displayed on your screen, such as checking your device under Technical requirements, enabling monitoring when required, and reviewing the exam instructions.
Once you have completed the preparation steps, click Next step to proceed to the Waiting room.
Wait for your exam to start
In the Waiting room, a countdown shows how much time remains before your exam opens.
The Start assessment button remains disabled during this period. Once the exam becomes available, the button is automatically enabled. You can then click Start assessment to begin your exam.
If the scheduled start time has passed but the button is still disabled, remain in the waiting room. Nexam will automatically update the page as soon as you can begin.
Stay in front of your screen while waiting, as monitoring is already active when required.
What if the waiting room is not displayed?
The waiting room is not used for every exam.
If your exam is already available or no waiting room has been configured, simply follow the usual steps to start your exam.
