Who decides which tools are allowed?
On the Nexam platform, it is not Nexam that determines which tools you can use during an exam. Permissions to use materials or tools are defined by your exam coordinator.
Where to find this information?
All rules about what is permitted or prohibited are outlined in the exam instructions, which you can consult at two points:
Before starting the exam: the instructions are shown at the beginning of the evaluation
During the exam: the instructions remain available at all times in the left-hand sidebar, under the "Instructions" section
Take time to read these carefully, as they may vary from one exam to another.
Examples of tools subject to permission
dictionary: paper, electronic, or built-in
spell checker: built-in browser or system feature
grammar or synonym tools: extensions or built-in aids
calculator: physical or online
internet access: search engines, reference websites
personal notes or scrap paper
reference materials: guides, formulas, appendices
In summary
The exam instructions, shown before and throughout the exam in the left sidebar, are your only reliable reference for what tools are allowed. Nexam does not decide which tools can be used, and any permitted tools will be clearly listed in the instructions. If something is not mentioned, assume it is not permitted. If in doubt, contact your exam coordinator directly.
