Why can't I access my exam?

There are several possible reasons why your exam may no longer be accessible from your dashboard.

Possible reasons

If your exam is no longer available or the Start button is disabled, it may be due to one of the following reasons:

1. The session has ended

Each exam is associated with a session, a defined time window during which the exam must be completed. Once the session ends, your copy is automatically marked as Absent if it was never opened. At that point, the exam is no longer accessible.

Nexam cannot reopen an evaluation once the session has ended. If you believe you need extra time or extended access, you must contact your exam coordinator, who is the only person authorized to request the creation of a new session.

2. Multiple copies were assigned

If you were assigned more than one copy of an exam, click on See more under your exam cards to reveal all active copies. Some copies may not be immediately visible if you don’t expand the list.

3. Another copy is already in progress

Only one exam copy can be active at a time. If another copy is already open or was not properly closed, you won’t be able to click Start on a second copy, even if it shows as Available. This restriction is enforced by our security system.

4. Identity validation required

In some cases, you must complete identity validation before gaining access to the exam. If this step is pending, the Start button will remain disabled until it is completed.

In summary

Make sure your session is still active, check that you’ve viewed all available copies, ensure no other exam is currently open, and confirm that any required steps such as identity validation have been completed.
