Wait for synchronization after submitting a copy

Understand what to do when Nexam synchronizes captures after submitting a monitored evaluation.

What happens after submission?

  • When you submit your copy, the monitoring captures stop and your copy leaves the Writing status.

  • After submission, Nexam may display a Synchronization in progress page.

  • This step allows Nexam to receive the video segments recorded in your browser during the exam.

Why synchronization matters

During your exam, some video segments may be temporarily stored in your browser before being sent to Nexam.

Synchronization sends the segments that are still waiting to be transferred.

This step may take some time, depending on:

  • The length of the exam

  • The number of segments to send

  • The stability of your Internet connection

  • The performance of your device

What to do during synchronization

During synchronization, you must:

  • Keep your browser open

  • Keep your computer on

  • Keep your Internet connection active

  • Wait until synchronization is complete before closing the page

  • Avoid closing Nexam too quickly

Important: Do not close your computer, browser, or Internet connection while synchronization is in progress.

If synchronization is interrupted

If you close your computer, close your browser, or lose your connection before synchronization is complete, the transfer cannot continue during the interruption.

However, unsent segments may remain in the browser as long as they are still available locally.

To allow synchronization to resume, reopen Nexam using:

  • The same device

  • The same account

  • The same browser

If you closed Nexam too early

If you closed Nexam before synchronization was complete:

  1. Reopen the same browser

  2. Sign in to the same Nexam account

  3. Use the same device as during the exam

  4. Return to Nexam to allow synchronization to resume, if it is still possible

If you cannot restart synchronization or if an error message appears, contact technical support.

If the timer ends automatically

  • If you leave the writing environment without clicking Submit copy and the timer ends, your copy may move to Completed automatically.

  • In this case, some video segments may still be waiting to be sent.

  • Reopen Nexam with the same device, the same account, and the same browser to allow synchronization to resume if needed.

If your Internet connection drops

If your Internet connection drops during synchronization:

  • Restore your connection as soon as possible

  • Avoid changing devices if possible

  • Reopen Nexam with the same browser

  • Sign in with the same account

  • Wait for synchronization to resume, if it is still possible
