What should I do if the message “the evaluation is already open in another tab” appears?

Why does this message appear?

This message may appear when Nexam detects that your evaluation is still open in another browser tab, window, or session.

This can happen if you have:

  • Opened Nexam in multiple tabs

  • Closed a tab without properly leaving the evaluation

  • Refreshed or reopened the browser

  • Tried to access the evaluation from another window

This mechanism helps prevent conflicts during the writing or monitoring of the evaluation.

What should you do?

Follow these steps in order:

  1. Close all open Nexam tabs and windows

  2. Sign in to your Nexam account

  3. Open your dashboard

  4. Click Resume evaluation

If the message still appears

If the message still appears after closing all Nexam tabs:

  1. Close your browser completely

  2. Reopen your browser

  3. Sign in to your account

  4. Click Resume evaluation

If the issue continues, restart your computer completely, then sign back in to Nexam.

If your exam is monitored

If your evaluation is monitored, Nexam may ask you to reactivate some shares after signing back in. Follow the on-screen instructions to reactivate:
