Preparing for your exam abroad

Taking an exam outside your country is possible with Nexam, provided you follow key technical recommendations. These checks help prevent interruptions, slowdowns, or restrictions caused by network conditions.

Recommendations to follow

  • Run an Internet speed test once you arrive at your destination, using the Validate your device section in the Nexam platform.

  • Check your time zone: Nexam automatically adjusts your exam time to your local time zone. If needed, refer to the article on setting your device’s clock.

  • Be aware of possible restrictions: some international networks may block screen or camera sharing due to firewalls or national policies.

  • Use a wired connection (Ethernet) whenever possible, or sit close to the router if using Wi-Fi.

  • Avoid using public Wi-Fi networks (hotels, cafés, airports).

  • Ensure your equipment (computer, webcam, microphone) is working properly before the exam.

  • Plan a backup Internet option, such as a mobile hotspot or access to a second network, in case of instability.
